Our School

Welcome from the Head of School

We are a two-form entry primary school located in Breightmet, Bolton, with two classes of 30 pupils in each year group. Alongside our main school, we offer a large pre-school nursery with up to 52 places each morning and afternoon, as well as a smaller two-year-old provision.

At Red Lane, we are proud to live by our motto, “Believe, Achieve, Succeed.” We work hard to ensure every child thrives—academically, socially and emotionally—so they leave us as confident, successful future citizens. A key priority for us is reading: we are committed to ensuring that every child learns to read at Red Lane, because we know that when a child learns to read, it changes everything.

We are equally dedicated to developing the whole child. Our strong focus on personal development is underpinned by our clear core values and the positive relationships we build with pupils and families. Inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to be an Inclusion Quality Mark Centre of Excellence, and we place great importance on creating a school where every child feels they belong, is understood, and is supported to succeed.

We are delighted that Ofsted recognised the school Leadership as Outstanding along with our Personal Development offer for pupils. This reflects the high expectations, care and ambition that run through school life.

I hope that by spending some time exploring our website, you will gain a real sense of our ethos in action—where responsibility, resilience and independence are woven into everyday learning. If you would like to find out more about our wonderful school, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the main office.
